That's why I always offer spin-off fonts of my typefaces with the most important stylistic sets promoted to default along with the official cut (at no extra cost to the buyer).1 -

Yes, that second one should probably be the default /N/. You might also want to consider an /n/-shaped /N/ (with a right angle at the top left and a curve at the top right) as another alternate.1 -

Personally, I find accents with angled tops and flat bottoms weird. I’ve switched to using horizontal cuts on both sides; works particularly well with a bold geometric.3
